Stanley H. Davis - Principal

Stanley H. Davis is Standish’s Founding Principal. He is recognized as a leader in organization building and business transformations, addressing the toughest business challenges to privately held, publicly traded and not-for-profit organizations. Throughout his career as a corporate leader and advisor he has worked closely with business owners, CEOs and their staffs to initiate aggressive talent and organization strategies to significantly improve corporate results.

Stan began his career in labor and employee relations in the steel industry. He subsequently held various management positions in organization change and human capital management for General Electric and then served as Vice President and Senior Vice President of three corporations under common private investor ownership. Stan was the lead human capital executive for Huffy Corporation where he was responsible for the organization development functions for the Corporation and for its portfolio of service and consumer products companies. He subsequently served as Chief Human Resources Officer for the American National Red Cross in Washington, DC. Stan joined a leading national executive search boutique in 2004 as Executive Vice President and Principal. He later founded Standish Executive Search to best meet the unique requirements of mid-sized and smaller firms.

Over the past five years, Standish has secured top level Executives with a 100% satisfaction rate. Application of The Standish Model© has proven to be the key to success for both Standish and for the Companies that it serves.

Stan Davis has been very active in his professional and public communities, including service as: President of Haven of Schenectady (NY); Board Member for the Capital District Hospice (NY); Co-Chair of the Rhode Island Governor’s Health Care Reform Commission; Member of the State Employee Pension Reform Commission (RI); Founding Board Member for the Center for Non-Profit Resources (OH). He is a former board member for the HR Leadership Forum in Washington, and former Board Chair of the Rhode Island Red Cross. Stan is a current Board Member and former Board Chair of the Boston Exit Planning Exchange (XPX).

Stan is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. He and his wife Susan have two grown children and live in Providence, RI.

Kelley R. Small - Principal

As a Principal of Standish Executive Search, Kelley R. Small plays a key role in advising clients and building the firm for the benefit of its expanding base of client companies. Kelley is a former business owner, and a seasoned business and organization advisor to mid-sized and smaller companies, government, and professional organizations.

In addition to her executive search practice at Standish, Kelley serves as an Advisor to CEO Connection and also as its Women’s Leadership Director. CEO Connection helps to position mid-market companies to improve their operations and results. She works with female CEOs throughout the United States, connecting them to people, information and resources. She has also focused on helping other women leaders to achieve positions in the C Suite and on boards in the mid-market space.

Previously, Kelley was the Founder and President of Newfound Business Solutions, a company she led from 2006 to 2017. As an Accredited Business Advisor, she has helped mid-size and small companies across a wide range of industries, both in the United States and Internationally, to achieve their business goals.

Her earliest business experience came through her family’s company, the Pedlar Publishing Group. The Central MA area company eventually sold the magazines they published, after which Small launched a monthly magazine, Today’s Parent, in 1996. She was its publisher until its sale in 2002. The magazine continues today under the name, Bay State Parent, with its new owners.

Under the administration of President George W. Bush, Kelley also served as an appointee to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), where she was Chairman of its Farm Service Agency for Massachusetts, a post she held for eight years.

In her executive search engagements with business owners, executives and boards, Kelley’s work reflects her seasoned background in leadership and organization effectiveness, from both in-house leadership and advisory perspectives. She has provided effective support and advice to mid-market and smaller companies as they have grown and transformed their businesses.

A native of Spencer, Massachusetts, Kelley’s education includes business management at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and professional certifications in advising independent businesses (IIB); marketing and sales; and personality evaluations.

Kelley and her husband, The Rev. Steven Small, have two grown children. She divides her time between Bridgewater, New Hampshire and West Boylston, Massachusetts.

She also provides the added support to assure that position and candidate profiles are right for each business, and follows through after placement to guarantee on-the-job success of selected candidates.
